Kanisha K Releases Delish Losing Game
Kanisha K released “Losing Game” just a few minutes ago. Co-written with Jane Bach, the song narrates the emotional pain of realizing a relationship is going nowhere and destined to fail – “a losing game.”
From Holland, Michigan, Kanisha K burst onto the pop charts with her breakout song, “My Another Day,” rocketing to the number 5 spot on FMQB’s AC40 and #36 on Mediabase. In other words, the small town girl was sharing the charts with Imagine Dragons, Katy Perry, Lorde, and Pharrell Williams.
In 2015, Kanisha K hooked up with mega-producer Joe Vulpis, releasing “Oh Damn Yeah,” followed by her cover of “I’ll Be Home For Christmas,” which took over the 26th slot on Billboard and soared to #15 on Mediabase’s Holiday Chart, along with being feature by Coach, Saks Fifth Avenue, and Neiman Marcus. Since then, she’s picked up national endorsements from Forever 21, Sennheiser, Victoria’s Secret, MAC, and Abercrombie & Fitch.
Refusing to slow down, Kanisha K again teamed up with producer Vulpis to write “Bet On Me,” a song close to Kanisha’s heart. “The song is about feeling like the underdog and asking the question, ‘If I were at my lowest point,’ would you still bet on me and take a chance on me?’”
Despite her success, Kanisha K devotes time to working with the HSUS (Humane Society of the U.S.) and the Keep Michigan Wolves Protected organizations because of her love for animals.
“Losing Game” opens on an elegant piano flowing into a lush country-pop-flavored melody riding luminous guitars and the tasty plucking of a banjo. When the chorus ramps up, the harmonics attain a glossy, potent contagion, radiant with gleaming textures.
Kanisha K’s voice, rich, crystalline, and powerful, infuses the tune with passionate colors both melancholic and liberating, as she relates her reasons for setting herself free from the bonds of toxic love.
